Tool set of mining and mineral exploration symbols for marking up geologic maps, mine maps, and exploration plans, following the FGDC Digital Cartographic Standard for Geologic Map Symbolization (FGDC-STD-013-2006). This tool set covers 2 categories with 110 tools, available in a standard colors version (the standard's red veins and resource areas, black workings) and a redline version. The 19 line tools — veins, facies boundaries, mine dump benches, open pit outlines, subsurface workings, and underground workings — are native Polyline markups with custom line styles. The 15 area symbols come as 30 tools: a Polygon markup and an Area measurement markup that reports the area, with the standard's patterns, tints, and outlines. The 61 point symbols and decorations are groups of native Bluebeam markups with editable dip, angle, depth, and label text. Every tool is named after its FGDC reference number, so placed markups list and count by name in the Markups List.
Examples of tools included:
-
Veins and mineralized areas
- Veins, veinlets, and mineralized stringers, certain or queried, and accurate, approximate, or concealed, with dip and vertical decorations
- Zones of mineralized or altered rock, areas of identified resources, and areas of high, moderate, low, and unevaluated mineral resource potential
- Metamorphic facies boundaries
- Disturbed ground: graded areas, strip mines, artificial fill and landfill, tailings, mine dumps, and mine dump benches
- Subsurface workings projected to the surface, in six options
-
Mines, shafts, adits, and pits
- Prospects, sand, gravel, clay, and placer pits, open pits, quarries, and glory holes, active or abandoned, and trenches
- Adits, tunnel entrances, and portals: approximately located, destroyed, abandoned, and with angle of inclination
- Drill holes for mineral exploration, with name, number, type, and ore grade, and inclined drill holes with collar, trace, angle, and depth
- Vertical and inclined mine shafts, winzes, raises, crosscuts, ore chutes, roof and floor elevations, workings, caved and inclined workings, lagging, and stoped areas
- The 19 line styles and 8 hatch patterns are also included as a line style set and a hatch pattern set for any other markup
Delivered as a Bluebeam Revu profile that loads both tool sets, the line style set, and the hatch pattern set in one import, plus the individual tool set files, in standard colors and redline.
